| At Least 12 Patches from Microsoft Next Week |

| Microsoft said today that it plans to issue at least 12 security updates to fix vulnerabilities in its Windows and Office products. Redmond says 10 of the updates will address flaws -- some of them "critical" -- in Windows. No doubt one of the two Office updates will address the PowerPoint flaw that online criminals have been exploiting for the past month to steal information from companies. Microsoft often fixes multiple,
distinct security flaws with a single patch, so I would not be surprised if the
updates released on "Patch Tuesday" next week mend more than two dozen
flaws. As usual, Security Fix will have more information on the updates shortly
after they are released. |
